Startupbootcamp’s Miami program was founded using a $2 million grant from the Knight Foundation. In addition to networking and partnership opportunities, the selected participants receive $20,000 to support their living expenses as well as access to a $100,000 convertible note and future funding, in return for 6 percent equity. The program’s first class of 10 participants was selected in 2016.
“We are proud to see this set of companies build on our first cohort with a greater diversity of founders, product category, stage, geography, and revenue,” Christian Seale, founder and general partner, Startupbootcamp, said in a statement. “Miami is poised to become recognized as a global hub for healthcare innovation.”
